ClockworkMod Recovery is being used for recovery of ROM images, full backup tool for your devices, and rooting tool just to name a few. This tool has become indispensable to Android enthusiast running a variety of devices and to those people who wants to upgrade downgrade their devices at will without the need of going to service centers. With this tool and a proper knowledge on how to use it properly anybody who are initiated can easily update their devices to the latest ROM’s or downgrade it to the oldest available stock Rom. On this post I would like to share the procedure on installing the ClockworkMod recovery tool for the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 running on the ICS Stock ROM 4.0.3.
Tools Needed: (Although the procedure is tested we are not responsible if you happen to bricked your device by following/or failing to follow the instructions posted here). Do it at your own risk, this may also void your warranty.
1. Odin3 (V1.85) (Grab the download link here)
2. ClockworkMod Recovery for GT-P3100_ClockworkMod-Recovery_220.127.116.11 for use with Odin
Or Alternatively if your looking for other devices or latest ClockWorkMod Recovery grab it directly from ClockWork Website
3. USB Device drivers for your device (can easily be obtained by installing Samsung Kies or the Android SDK)
When you have the file you are now ready to flash ClockWorkMod Recovery in your device. Load the file using Odin. Reboot your device and put in into download mode by pressing (Power + Volume Down). Follow the on screen prompt to put the device into download mode. Connect your device to your usb cable and make sure that the connected status is showing marked by yellow dialog. If everything works fine then continue flashing the file until you get a “PASS” message on the screen
Disconnect your device and press (Power + Volume Up) this will restart the device, continue pressing the button. When Samsung boot screen appears removed your finger pressing the power button but continue pressing the (Volume up) this will boot your device to Recovery Mode. You are now ready to use it for recovery, full backup/restore or rooting your device.
